Our names are Peter & Robyn Harris, we have 3 grown children of which 2 are living on the property with us. We began our farming career breeding beef cattle on a 200 acre property. A lot of research and enquiry saw us make the move to a smaller property, with a view to breeding high quality alpacas. We thought the idea of improving the quality of the coloured animals could be both a challenging and rewarding experience, so we set out in search of some females to begin our new herd.
We began with a small herd of 5 pregnant females, mainly black. We brought them home and then eagerly awaited the arrival of our first cria. Just before the following Christmas we were very happy with the safe arrival of a lovely white female. Not the light fawn we might have expected, but beautiful all the same. In the months that followed more cria were born. We purchased some more females and selected stud males to add to our ever-growing herd.
We are constantly striving for consistent improvement in the animal breeding program and in the Australian Alpaca industry.
